Come the 5th January, a new man will be taking over the role as Regional Manager for Northern NSW AFL.
Mark Heaney will step into the role vacated by Shane McAloon who will move to Tasmania to take on a teaching role.
As previously reported, McAloon who has been in the role for just under two years, has accepted a prestigious role as head teacher of PDHPE in a Hobart school, where his partner has family.
McAloon said it was a hard decision to make and thanked those on the North Coast for their assistance during his time in the role.
"I would like to thank the people who have provided support over the almost the last two years, it has been a fantastic time and I've had the pleasure of working with a lot of fantastic people," he said.
Heaney is not new to the North Coast, having originally grown up on the North Coast, where he first starting playing AFL.
He brings a wealth of experience having worked for the AFL in Victoria and is keen to meet the football community when he starts early in the New Year.
Contact details will remain the same for the Regional Manager, with Mark Heaney contactable on 6652 6560 or 0407 663 562 and via mark.heaney@aflnswact.com.au
The AFL North Coast has been lucky to work and establish strong working relationships with dedicated predecessors in McAloon and previously, Chris McKinley, who served in the role for a long period.
The League is confident, considering his background, that a similiar rapport can be generated with Mark Heaney.
