Nambucca Valley captain, Monty Schmidt capped off a stellar season with their club's Senior Best & Fairest award.
Schmidt (53 votes), was consistent in the midfield throughout 2010, and claimed the main award well ahead of veteran defender, Jimmy Angel (42) and League Best & Fairest Runner-Up, Aaron Clarke (35).
Clarke, however, didn't go home empty handed, claiming the Leading Goalkicker (36 goals) and the Coaches Award's. The latter was in recognition of his speedy development into arguably, the premier centre-half forward in the League. Clarke has only played the game for two seasons after switching from Rugby League.
In other awards, Jack Chaffey claimed the Players' Player; coach, Ray McGrath was bestowed with the Presidents Award, and Greg Boatfield won the Ross Smith Memorial Shield for clubperson of the year.
The Lions had one of their most successive seasons after choosing to focus on the Senior grade. They made the finals with a Round 15 win over the Swans, and pushed Port Macquarie all the way in their Elimination Final.
