TICKETS for the AFL NAB Challenge match to be played at BCU International Stadium on March 12 are going on sale on Monday.
The AFL has worked hard to ensure prices to attend the match are affordable to ensure a large crowd attends the first AFL match to be played in the region since Sydney met Carlton in 2003.
Coffs Harbour mayor Cr Keith Rhoades said community excitement was really building for the March 12 game which will be played under the stadium’s newly installed 1500 lux digital television-standard floodlights.
“For our regional community, this is truly a fantastic opportunity to show our support for AFL and a packed BCU International Stadium will go a long way to making sure future NAB Challenges are held here,” he said.
“So I’d encourage everyone to come along to the event.
“Especially with tickets at such an affordable price.”
The AFL’s general manager of national and international development David Matthews said the AFL is committed to bringing games to regional areas of NSW.
“The NAB Challenge is such an important event on the calendar and helps the AFL launch the season in communities across Australia,” Matthews said. “Ticket prices are designed to be affordable so that the match is enjoyed by AFL followers in and around the Coffs Harbour area.”
The competing teams will not be announced before March 7 but there is a strong possibility that one of the clubs making its way to Coffs Harbour for the NAB Challenge match will be the Sydney Swans.
Tickets can be purchased online 24 hours a day, seven days a week via Coffs Harbour City Council’s website.
They can also be bought in person at the Coffs Harbour Visitor Information Centre (VIC) located on the corner of Mclean and Elizabeth Streets or over the phone by calling TicketDirect Australia on 1300 798 550.
A $3.50 booking fee applies per ticket for tickets purchased over the phone while there is a $2.50 booking fee that applies per ticket for tickets purchased in person.
