Adam Eckermann lives and works in Port Macquarie and until recently has driven to Sydney each week to play in the NEAFL competition with Sydney Hills Eagles.
The NEAFL is an elite competition and after watching Eckermann dismantle the Coffs Swans last weekend can confirm that he is an elite player.
Taking numerous contested marks and booting 10 goals he gets my vote as the most accomplished player that I have seen to play on the North Coast.
His mere presence puts Port right in the frame for this years flag.
Finals race opens up
The return of bustling midfielder Matt Lill and the late recruitment of Adam Eckermann from the NEAFL have suddenly lifted the Magpies into premiership contention.
Last week they were in a three way battle to make the four but my how that has changed following their super impressive thrashing of ladder leaders the Coffs Swans.
Don’t be surprised to see star centre half back Greg Dean back on the track and then lookout.
Bombers season on the line
Camden Haven host Grafton at Laurieton today in the knowledge that they must win their last two games to get a maiden first grade finals spot.
The Tigers do not travel well and assuming the Bombers get up today that leaves a mouth watering showdown with fierce rivals Port Macquarie next Saturday.
Coffs Hotel Good Sport
He may have stepped aside from official AFL duties but former League President and life member Jim Woodlock is still giving his time generously to a number of sports.
From rugby union to car rally’s Jim and his lovely wife Jill are on hand to lend a helping help.
Marty and Donna Phillips would like to say thanks for making a difference. Present a copy of this article at the Coffs Hotel to collect your $25 hotel voucher.
