MEDIA RELEASE FROM AFL (NSW/ACT) MEDIA DEPARTMENT
Travelling as part of the NAB 150 Tour, the Australian Football Experience provides an opportunity for families and children to learn about the history of Australian Football while enjoying a series of interactive activities.
Grant said he couldn't wait to visit Coffs Harbour and help spread the Australian Football 150 year celebrations.
Australian Football has always been a chance for families to come together, get active and have some fun and that's exactly what will happen when the Australian Football Experience comes to town, Grant said.
The Australian Football Experience is travelling around Australia between February and October as part of the celebrations of Australian Football's 150th birthday.
As part of the Australian Football Experience, families have the opportunity to visit the Big Footy, a nine-metre purpose-built dome holding up to 80 people which contains a visual history of 150 years of Australian Football, as well as DVD highlights and the chance to view replicas of the 2008 NAB Cup and the 2008 Toyota AFL Premiership Cup.
The Australian Football Experience will also provide interactive activities for children, including:
- Autographs and photos with Chris Grant
- Taking part in the Big Kick, a goal-kicking competition for children where daily winners will receive an Australian Football Experience giftpack. All children participating will have the chance to win tickets to the 2008 AFL Grand Final for a family of four.
- Handball Highlights, an opportunity to demonstrate your skills with an Australian football.
- The opportunity to register your interest in NAB AFL Auskick or PlayAFL.
The Australian Football Experience and the NAB 150 Tour will be at the following location:
