The first two days haven't been kind to the Northern Heat but the side came out with renewed vigour and won both games on the final day of action at the Under 18 State Zone Trials.
Whilst the Rebels ended as the superior side, the Heat tasted success with increased pressure and skill execution a highlight of their play.
Sawtell duo, Simon Taylor and Jack Gillingham led the way in setting the example. Taylor was significant in applying pressure in the midfield whilst Gillingham dominated in the air.
A big thanks must go to all who volunteered during the carnival, again it ran like clockwork. From the waterboys, to the scoreboard attendants and timekeepers, we appreciate the hard work you have put in. It was great to see the numbers flock through the gates with many commenting on the excellent facilities.
One would only hope and believe the tournament will return bigger and better in 2010 for a fourth successive year.
