A new look Swans outfit will be seeking premiership success after a derailed finals campaign last season.
The side went out in straight sets and missed out on the Under 18 crown despite going through the regular season undefeated.
The departure of coaches, Peter Chadwick and Michael Brown will be felt, according to club spokesman, Jason Sincock but the culture left behind will be important in the side's progress.
"We were extremely disappointed with how our season finished given the potential of our list," he said.
"The new culture and attitudes they left behind, in conjunction with the youth and pace we still possess will only assist our development this year."
Dave Box will take over the coaching reins, and looks set to adopt a new attitude.
"I said to the committee when they appointed me that it's not necessarily about results this year," he said.
"If we have to get beaten a couple of times this year by 60 or 70 points because we've picked blokes who are training all the time rather than a couple of guys who didn't even bother to train then that's what we're going to do."
"Hopefully that will only be one small step backwards in order to take three steps forwards."
With the absence of Chadwick and Hamish Pearce, the side will rely on League Best & Fairest Runner-Up, Evan Duryea to take leadership of the youngest Swans midfield in many years.
The backline will also be missing the solid influence of Tony Waterfall who announced his retirement after a long career with the red and whites.
Sincock recognised Sawtell and North Coffs were again the teams to beat in 2009.
"We have the players with the skills needed to make an impact, it is just a matter of being consistent against the more experienced sides of the competition," he said.
