The Swans 10-year premiership celebrations were given a kick with the current squad recording a solid 21 point win over Port Macquarie at Fitzroy Oval.
In a tight affair, the Swans got the jump with a strong opening quarter display. Dave Box led from the front and on the scoreboard, along with Fraser Duryea, as the home side had plenty of options up forward.
The Magpies justified their position in the finals with a spirited second term. Shannon Skreja was among his sides best in the midfield, striking a strong partnership with Mark Harvey.
In an all-important third quarter, the Swans produced the better football. Rob Eddy was resolute down back, and along with Dave Colman, helped moved the ball forward with more efficiency.
With Dean Nankervill and Dylan McNeill dangerous in attack for the Magpies, the match was still in dispute. However, it was the Swans, driven by a passionate home crowd, prevailed in a tense finish that will whet the appetite for a rematch in the Elimination Final.

Sawtell continued their stellar run with a massive win away at Grafton.
The Saints ability to create space on the confined spaces of Ellem Oval wore the Tigers down over the match.
Mark Couzens was central to the Saints cause again in the midfield, even a stint in the ruck. Daniel Pritchard and Todd Matthews used the ball well along the wing, with the goals shared between ten players.
The first quarter was well-contested with Daniel Zacek repelled numerous Saint attacks across half-back. Graeme Connolly and Hugh O'Toole dominated the hit-outs with Sawtell not fielding a recognised ruckman.
As the match progressed, the Sawtell developed a vice grip on the contest. Sawtell scored 13 unanswered goals in the second-half. Clint Williams and Matt Elliott provided the drive through the corridor, as the Saints depth came to the fore.
