BCU Stadium on Sunday 6 September will host the North Coast Junior AFL Grand Finals. North Coffs Roos have made all three grand finals for the first time in the club’s history.
A schedule of events is as follows...
9.00am – Under 7 and 10 Gala Day involving all clubs.
10.15am – Under 12 Grand Final – Coffs Swans V North Coffs Roos
11.45am – Under 14 Grand Final – Coffs Swans V North Coffs Roos
1.30pm – Under 16 Grand Final – North Coffs Roos V Sawtell Saints
In the Under 12s Coffs Swans have been the frontrunners all season and will start the game as favourities. They will be looking to key players Keiren Bellemore, Tyrone Jones and Jacob Sincock to lead the way. The Roos playing in their sixth straight grand final will look to Riley Channells, James Langfield and Lachlan Kelly to gain their fourth win. The Roos have had a strange season winning their first two games, then losing six in a row before returning to form to win four on the trot.
The Under 14s has been even all season between Coffs Swans, North Coffs and Sawtell. Coffs Swans have had the better of the Roos in recent encounters and will need Damian Attwood, Mckinlay Pearce and Zac Symons to fire. The Roos are a very even combination who’s form has turned around after a number of loses at the back end of the season. Three of the Roos young guns Kane Latham, Machut Machut and Patrick Wilson will hope to use their Under 12 success from last year to spark this year’s performance.
The Under 16s is shaping as the game of the day with minor premiers slight favourites over a fast finishing Sawtell Saints. The Roos have a 4-1 record this year however the Sawtell have improved every game this year and will test the Roos. The Roos will be looking to Northern Heat representatives Jack Campbell, Brendan Norton, Nathan Harris, Aaron Boatfield and Nick Bailey to dominate while the Saints fab four of Lucas Nicholls, Blake Brissett, Patrick Gillingham and Angus Burkitt have the running game to threaten the Roos.
With three close Grand Finals likely plus an Auskick spectacular a great day of AFL is assured.
