TARA MURRAY - STAR WEEKLY
With a finals spot already in the bag, Rupertswood had nothing to lose going into the final two rounds of the RDFL season.
The first contest was against second-placed Macedon on Saturday, and then they take on third-placed Riddell this week. The Sharks knew – win, lose or draw – they would still be in fifth position at the end of the regular season.
Earlier in the season, the Cats ran all over the Sharks in the final quarter. On Saturday, the Sharks made sure history didn’t repeat itself, this time holding on to win 13.9 (87)-12.4 (76).

NETBALL
TARA MURRAY - STAR WEEKLY
A cat has been thrown among the pigeons in the fight for top two spots in the Riddell District Netball League.
All season it has appeared as though Rupertswood and Riddell would fill those placings, as they have in the previous two years, but Macedon could quite easily find themselves in second spot after this Saturday’s games.
The Cats had nothing to lose going into the season’s final two rounds. Guaranteed to finish at least third, something they were happy with, they took on and beat Rupertswood on Saturday.
Both sides had periods of dominance in the game, but it came down to the final seconds, the Cats winning 50-49. See the full story here - http://bit.ly/2aT7Jdg
