AFL Tasmania is pleased to announce the formation of a new partnership with Hydro Tasmania.
Hydro Tasmania will become AFL Tasmania’s Leadership partner, providing support for three new initiatives that will improve the sustainability of regional football clubs throughout the state by establishing programs to assist club volunteers.
The Hydro Tasmania AFL Leadership Program will feature the establishment of an annual Hydro Tasmania AFL Football Conference and Awards Dinner that will bring together all members of Tasmania’s football family for a day of leadership development, education and recognition.
In 2013, the inaugural Hydro Tasmania AFL Football Conference and Awards Dinner will be held on Saturday November 9th at the Launceston Country Club Casino.
The Hydro Tasmania AFL Leadership Program will also feature enhanced educational support and learning opportunities for football club coaches and competition umpires, two absolutely critical roles in the game.
The goal of the Hydro Tasmania AFL Leadership Program is to contribute to the sustainability of regional football clubs so that the social network that flows from community sport not only survives into the future, but thrives.
AFL Tasmania Chief Executive Scott Wade said:
“AFL Tasmania is absolutely delighted to be able to announce Hydro Tasmania as its Leadership Partner. Local grassroots football clubs form the foundation of many of Tasmania’s communities. At this time, more than ever, it is fundamentally important for AFL Tasmania to provide support to the volunteers in our communities who make these football clubs viable”.
Hydro Tasmania Acting Chief Executive Stephen Davy said:
“Hydro Tasmania is proud to be able to assist regional football communities across Tasmania. By providing development opportunities for key volunteers at local clubs we are assisting regional football clubs to continue to thrive into the future and provide a critical social network for their regional communities”.
