Just two weekends to go before the 2013 AFL Capricornia Grand Final .... This Saturday Stenlake Park (Carlton St North Rockhampton) is the venue for the sudden death preliminary finals which are the final deciders for the teams which won their way through in the first semi final and the losers of the major semi final (last Saturday):
A Grade Yeppoon Swans v Glenmore Bulls 2.30pm
The Yeppoon Swans and the Glenmore Bulls are the two most evenly matched teams in the League. .... During the season Glenmore won their first match (Rd 5) by just 2 points 9.13 (67) to 9.11 (65) with the home ground advantage at Stenlake Park.
Down at Swan Park Yeppoon, in round 10 the Swans won their second encounter (12.11 (83) to 10.12 (72) and again, this time at Stenlake Park in rd 15 ....12.11 (83) to 8.15 (63) thanks to some wayward kicking for goal from the Bulls. Even so each side recorded a total of 23 scoring shots each.
The Swans will still go into this game as favourites because of the over all performances during the yearof their brigade of youngsters who have all been part of their successful junior development program over the past few years make up the majority of the team but are are led well by the likes of strong centre half forward Albert Russell and 2012 Bernie Gottke Medal winner Matt Wallin.
Glenmore also rely on a bevy of ex juniors especiall the well performed Tyson, Darcy and Nic Payne ... This match is just too close to pick ...perhaps the Swans by a whisker.
