POSITION AVAILABLE : MARKETING AND MEDIA MANAGER
The Diamond Valley Basketball Association is a large, not for profit sporting organization in the northern suburbs that manages competitions for 20 Junior Domestic Clubs and 150 Senior Domestic Teams,with 42 Junior Championship teams playing in the VJBL and 4 Senior Championship teams playing in the Big V.
The DVBA has over 5,000 members with 5 full time personnel with numerous casual workers and volunteers.
The position of Marketing and Media Manager is NOT a 9 to 5 job.
You will be required to work at weekends and nights to promote and assist various events, members and sponsors including some hosting of events from time to time.
Responsibilities - the successful candidate will be responsible for;
• Creating and writing promotional material for all programs
• Compiling information for promotion of our 40 year history in 2016
• Contact, create and manage new sponsors and achieve targets
• Manage media and communications including website and social media.
• Design, build and launch marketing campaigns
• Create and deliver news and releases.
• Support and manage key events and initiatives through the planning, sales and execution
• Support and co-ordinate with personnel form all programs
• Research, prepare, promote, oversee, review and report on key events
Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
• Relevant tertiary qualifications preferable
• Relevant experience preferable.
• High level written skills and attention to details, reporting and communication.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong, positive and sustainable relationships with a wide range of sponsors and partners across corporate, government and not for profit areas.
• Creative skills and ideas for the improved image of the Association
• Interest in basketball and previous experience within a sporting organization is desirable.
• Existing connections and understanding of the DVBA organization would be preferred.Conditions of Employment
• The successful applicant must hold a Working with Children Card.
• The successful applicant must have a drivers licence and use of their own motor vehicle.
• This position is a part time role with days and hours subject to negotiation
• Estimated 20 to 30 hours work required per week
• Conditions and salary negotiable with the successful applicant.
