GRAND CANYON’S ARNOTT SHARES WITH LOCAL COACHES
Graduate Assistant Coach of the Grand Canyon University - Athletics Antelopes, Ash Arnott presented a free clinic for local coaches on Monday night at Community Bank Stadium.
Over 40 coaches attended to learn from Ash and take away teaching points and drills used by him and the staff at Grand Canyon to optimize a player’s shooting ability.
‘It was great to see a young man that has come through the Victorian System on the floor, sharing what he has learnt to date with our DVBA Coaches’, DVBA CEO Ross Wignell said.
‘For the past 2 years, Ash has been very fortunate to be a Graduate Assistant Coach of the USA Division 1 College, Grand Canyon University Men's Basketball team, working under Head Coaches Dan Majerle and Todd Lee’.
‘The topic for the evening was shooting and Ash worked through some of the drills used at Grand Canyon for their individual sessions as well as some team drills based around various cuts within their offence’.
‘Adding some of his favorite drills he has accumulated, Ash demonstrated a very positive approach, continually praising the players whilst stressing the importance of being encouraging, whether it be at practice or in a game. The evening was very educational and of great assistance to all in attendance’.
The DVBA are very appreciative of Ash spending some time with us and wish him the best of luck for the season ahead.
