Carly Turner’s career with her beloved Diamond Valley Eagles is coming to a close with her final game to be played against close rivals, the Eltham Wildcats, on Sunday 27^th July at Diamond Valley Sports and Fitness Complex.

It is a fitting end to her long and distinguished career that she plays the Wildcats at her home court, that she has graced since joining the Eltham North Jets 12 years ago. In August, Carly will embark on the next phase of her life as a player with the St Mary’s Gaels in Moraga, California.

St Mary’s has a great history with Australia with such notable players as Patty Mills, Mathew Dellavedova and Louella Tomlinson & Kate Gaze in the women’s program.

“It is such a fitting finale that the Eagles play Eltham on our home court in Carly’s last game for the club. She has represented the club with distinction, class, passion and a fierce determination that is typical of the way she attacks life in general.

A multiple State player, AIS and National Junior team representative, Carly still finds time for Diamond Valley. Attending camps, training with younger players and recently she attended an information night for the club to speak to the young players and parents promoting the program. I cannot speak more highly of Carly, there were many opportunities for her to play elsewhere, but loyalty is one of her most endearing qualities” – Alan McAughtry Tech Director of Coaching

It would be great to fill the stands with the Eltham North Jets and Diamond Valley players, parents and coaches, to farewell Carly before she heads off to start her career in the USA.
