NAB U08 Season Opener
Yesterday marked the beginning of the 2016 season for our Under 8s, and what a day it was! In conjunction with our kind sponsor NAB, 220 of our future champions took to the court to improve their skills.
It was wonderful to see Under 8 teams from 14 domestic clubs unite in our action packed program. Under the watchful eye of CEO Ross Wignell, the U08 boys and girls were put through their paces by Diamond Valley’s Youth League and Senior Championship Men and Women, with a series of drills aimed at improving the participant’s passing techniques, body position, ball handling and of course shooting.
At the end of the session it was game on! The U08s showed some brilliant skills for their age and demonstrated significant improvement from just their first session.
Congratulations to Lilly Chambers (Laurimar Thunder) Audrey Davis (Hurstbridge) Ryan McCarthy (St Marys) Jesse Robertson (Hurstbridge) Dylan Genis (St Helena) Noah Bonavia (St Martins) Tom Gilauro (Greenshills) and Courtney Harford (Apollo) who all received a brand new basketball and cap from NAB representative Ben Broadbent, for excellence on the day. The DVBA would like to thank everyone involved in what was a great start to the season.
