The MJ Miller Medal was first awarded in 1974 to North Mackay Saints player Frank Zeolla. Previous to this the award was called the Senior Best and Fairest award.
Previous winners Desmond Hayes (2010 - Mackay City) and Heath Thiele (2011 - Mackay Magpies then Kangaroos) are natural vote-getters and should attract votes from the Umpires for their respective teams.
Going on purely FoxSportsPulse statistics Eastern Swans 250+ game veteran Terry Bailey is the most consistent player across the Allied Pickford's Cup competition and should attract votes, however several team mates may steal votes from him and ruin his chances of the top honour.
Taking votes off Bailey are the likes of Mitchell Cook and Matthew Oakford, who have been ever consistent as well this season. But with numerous stars in the Swans line up it is hard to seeing a Swan take out the top award.
As previously mentioned Desmond Hayes will attract votes but will be regularly fighting for votes against Scott Brown and Jarrod Watling early in the season. For the North Mackay Saints, veteran Brendan Cowcher has had another fantastic with Thomas Morley and Chayse Tilley also key contributors.
For the fairytale Mackay Magpies, Heath Thiele has been one of the most influential player in his sides rise up the ladder this year. His brother Nicholas Thiele, midfielder Edward Trewin and captain Jaebyn Drefke will all no doubt attract votes from the men and women in green.
Quinton Quakawoot (Bakers Creek) and Matthew Laskey (Whitsundays) are heavy favourites from their respective sides and though results may have not gone their teams way in 2015, they should feature regularly come Saturday nights vote count.
