Mixed Day with 6 to play in Champions Semi-finals

The Association encountered a mixed bag of resuults yesterday (Sunday 28/9) in the third round of the Champion of Champions tournament.

Five of the eleven teams competing have won through to the Semi-finals of their divisons and will be joined by the Earlwood 21w team who have been waiting until now to play. In an interesting turn of events it will be teams from each end of the age spectrum that will represent the Association in the quest for the Champions title.

Balmain (2), Leichhardt Tigers, Inter Lions, Marrickville and Earlwood will all contest games on Sunday 12 October.

Round 3 Results:

  • 12: Emu Plains (Nepean) lost to Balmain, 0-3
  • 13: Bankstown Sports Strikers (Bankstown) defeated Hurlstone Park, 1-0
  • 14: Mulgoa Valley FC (Nepean) lost to Balmain, 1-4
  • 16: Glenmore Park (Nepean) defeated Balmain, 1-0
  • 18: Penrith Rovers (Nepean) defeated Burwood, 5-1
  • 21: Glenmore Park (Nepean) defeated Roselands, 1-0
  • 35: Cronulla Seagulls (Sutherland) lost to Leichhardt Tigers, 1-5
  • 45: Umina United (Central Coast) lost to Inter Lions, 0-1
  • 12w: Colo Cougars (Nepean) defeated Concord, 2-1
  • 14w: Padstow Hornets (Bankstown) lost to Marrickville, 1-2
  • 30w: Toongabbie (Granville) defeated Hurlstone Park, 4-3

  • 12: Highlands FC (Highlands) v Balmain @ Ray Marshall 1, 9am
  • 14: North Epping (Gladesville) v Balmain @ Ray Marshall 1, 10:15am
  • 35: Sydney Juniors (Southern Districts) v Leichhardt Tigers @ Ray Marshall 2, 3pm
  • 45: Castle Hill United (Granville) v Inter Lions @ Ray Marshall 3, 1:30pm
  • 14w: South West Slopes v Marrickville Ray Marshall 1, 11:30am
  • 21w: Earlwood v Doonside Hawks (Blacktown) @ Blacktown Football Park 1, 1pm
