Norwood Women Turn Up The Heat for Tigers

Norwood Flames (91) defeated Southern Tigers (52)

Norwood continued their dominant ways out at MARS on Saturday night, with an easy 91-52 win over Southern.

The Lady Flames started off like a house on fire, jumping out to an early 10-2 advantage, with Kelsey Ireland (12 points, 5-7FG, 2-2 3ptFG) and Amy Lewis (24 points, 10-16FG, 5 assists, 4 steals) connecting from long range.

Southern made the long trek back, behind the hot hand of Lauren Fisher (23 points, 8-10FG, 10 Turnovers), to trail 19-15 at the end of one.

From there it went all downhill for Southern, with Norwood continuing their hot shooting and Southerns inability to execute in the half court, Norwood led by 16 at the long break.

In the 2nd half, Norwood lifted the intensity on the defensive end led by Jess Good (21 points, 5 steals).

Norwood forced Southern into 35 turnovers, on 21 steals, and converted those into 35 points off turnovers. And that was all she wrote.
