Warrior Women Win Over Bearcats
West Adelaide Bearcats (63) lost to Woodville Warriors (73)
The Bearcats' offence was quick and strong chalking up double the steals of their opponents but the Warriors' defence stood up tall against the assault. After a rapid but even first quarter the Warriors' D got down to business and locked the Bearcats' out of the key limiting the home team to just 8 points for the quarter giving them a healthy 21 point lead at half time. The Bearcats regained their footing in the third quarter but still carried a 15 point deficit into the final stanza.
The Bearcats have been focused on closing out their games successfully this season and they have been improving in that department. They played a passionate last quarter and won it by 5 points but it wasn't enough to do any damage to the Warriors chances of securing the win.
Carmen Reynolds made a double-double for Woodville with 29 points and 11 rebounds, her effort matched by team mate Katherine Perkas who made 24 points and 9 rebounds of her own.
Standouts for West were scoring trio Sky Langenbrink, Kate Shierlaw and Stana Zecevic who accounted for 39 points between them.
