Rnd 6: Warriors Men victorious over Bearcats

The Woodville Warriors have won their fourth game straight by defeating the West Adelaide Bearcats on Friday night at Port Adelaide.

The intensity surrounding this game was evident right from the jump with both teams itching to make their presence felt and gain a win. The first shot came at the hands of Demetrious Perkins, then it was back and forth scoring throughout seeing the first quarter end on even terms.

The second quarter saw a shift in momentum in favour of Woodville and a strong flurry of offensive pressure and swift ball movement early on caught West Adelaide off guard. The skills and efficiency of the Warriors left them with a 10 point lead at the half.

The second half started reasonably even yet physical. Nelson Kirksey stepped up, creating numerous offensive and defensive rebounds and extended his team’s lead to 15 at the end of the third. Kirksey finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists.

Much like the rest of the game, the fourth saw the Warriors maintain their focus and lead, allowing them to walk away with a 14 point victory in the end.

Darren Ng was top scorer for Woodville with 21 points, 5 assists.

Demetrius Perkins and Tristan Braithwaite played well for West with 20 points, 6 rebounds and 18 points, 3 rebounds respectively.
