Round 14 Preview - WOMEN

Sturt Sabres (7-6, 6th) v Woodville Warriors (6-7, 7th)

For the second straight match, the Sabres will face a top five challenger when they go up against the Warriors at Pasadena.

Last week the Sabres suffered a crucial loss to West. The Sabres now sit one game below the fifth-placed Bearcats.

Contrastingly, the Warriors earned a critical victory against Centrals last week. The Warriors have one fewer win than the Sabres.

Last time they met the Sabres clawed past the Warriors 61-50.

North Adelaide Rockets (10-3, 2nd) v Norwood Flames (12-1, 1st)

In the Match of the Round at Hillcrest, the Rockets will try again for a breakthrough win over the Flames.

While the Rockets have been a force over the past two seasons they have been unable to extinguish the Flames. The Flames have lost just once in their last 37 games but with Jess Foley sideline by injury, can the Rockets finally take them down?

The Flames' win of Forestville last week allowed them to extend their lead in first to two games. Former Halls Medallist and premiership winner, Jessica Mahony made her Flames debut.

The Rockets in turn knocked off South to move past the Eagles and into second.

Last time they met the Flames grounded the Rockets 76-53.

South Adelaide Panthers (1-12, 9th) v West Adelaide Bearcats (8-5, 5th)

The Bearcats will be chasing another win in their quest for a finals spot when they make the trip to Marion to battle the Panthers.

The Bearcats picked up a vital victory against Sturt last week and are now a game clear of the bottom five.

Contrastingly, the Panthers fell to North remaining dangerously close to last place.

Last time they met the Bearcats succeeded against the Panthers 61-52.

Central District Lions (0-13, 10th) v Eastern Mavericks (2-11, 8th)

The Mavericks have an excellent shot of distancing themselves from the bottom two with a trip to Starplex to face the winless Lions on their agenda.

The Mavericks still have just two victories of their own to their credit having been beaten by Southern last week.

The Lions' most recent loss was to Woodville.

Last time they met the Mavericks dominated the Lions 98-60.

Forestville Eagles (10-3, 3rd) v Southern Tigers (9-4, 4th)

A top three spot will be on the line when the Eagles and Tigers go toe-to-toe at Wayville.

The third-placed Eagles started last week two games ahead of the Tigers, before going down to Norwood.

The Tigers took advantage of the Eagles' defeat with a victory over the Mavericks. If the Tigers win this round they will overtake the Eagles on percentage.

Last time they met the Eagles won a close contest 74-70.
