Bearcats Men Move to #1
West Adelaide Bearcats (70) defeated Woodville Warriors (60)
The Bearcats' win over Woodville at Port Adelaide on Saturday, has seen these two teams trade places on the ladder, pushing West Adelaide to the top and dropping the Warriors down to third place.
Woodville played without some senior personnel in Darren Ng and Steve Pilkington, while danger man Alex Starling returned to the court this week but was limited to 14 points by West.
A low scoring first quarter for Woodville set them up to chase the Bearcats all night. Despite some strong runs in the second and final quarters from the Warriors, the home team banked a respectable 10 point win at the final buzzer.
Bearcat Jason Dawson led the game with 26 points and 15 rebounds while Woodville's Alex Starling scored a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
