Eagles Win Their First On The Road

North Adelaide Rockets (71) lost to Forestville Eagles (83)

The Forestville Eagles collected their first away from home win this season after they defeated the North Adelaide Rockets by 12 points at Hillcrest on Saturday night.
 
The Eagles started the game strongly with a 27 point first quarter, giving them a 10 point lead at quarter time. The Rockets outscored the Eagles during the second quarter, 15 to 10, pulling back Forestville’s half point lead to just 5 points. After an even third quarter, the Eagles’ efforts in the final quarter gave them a 12 point victory.
 
The win was soured slightly for the Eagles with Neil Mottram landing heavily on his right shoulder with just one minute remaining in the game.
 
Eagle Jake Rios continued his strong shooting form with a game high of 27 points. Trent Fildes was next best with 22 points. Fildes also collected 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Brad Gerlach and Kane Oakley were crucial under the basket for the Eagles with ten rebounds each.
 
For the Rockets, Daniel Goodluck was their highest points scorer, with 23 points to his name. He also recorded 4 assists and 2 steals. John Wernham was key for the Rockets with 13 points and a game high of 18 rebounds. More importantly, those 18 rebounds were evenly split between offensive and defensive. Luke Mapunda also collected 13 points, as well as 9 assists.
