Lions Turn Up The Heat
Central Districts Lions (93) defeated South Adelaide Panthers (64)
A late game power outage at Starplex didn't phase the hottest team in the CABL as the Central District Lions put away the South Adelaide Panthers 93-64 to win their fifth straight game.
The Lions started with the hot hand, Jordan Centernera (17 points) splashing two triples and Chris Clausen (26 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists) dominating the paint to give Centrals a 16 point lead after the first quarter.
Jordan Robertson carried South in the first with 11 points but didn't receive much support and then only scored 2 more points for the rest of the match.
The focus switched to defense in the second quarter for the Lions as they limited the Panthers to 10 points en route to a massive 26 point half time lead.
With around two minutes left in the third and the Panthers matching Central Districts, play was interrupted as the stadium went dark and only a few emergency lights remained on.
After a 20 minute period of darkness, cheers from players and fans were heard as the power came back on and play resumed.
South had a short run of success over the suffocating defensive pressure of the Lions but the home side was just too good and ran away with the win.
Brad Reid had a late flurry of points for the Panthers, he finished with 15 points and 12 rebounds while Thomas McKenzie top scored for the visitors with 17.
The Lions' Kyle Miller flirted with a triple double, he recorded 18 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists in the victory.
