Rockets Blast Panthers
North Adelaide Rockets (82) defeated South Adelaide Panthers (64)
Not a lot has changed for either side after The North Adelaide Rockets took down the South Adelaide Panthers at Hillcrest on Saturday night. The Rockets are still 3rd and the Panthers are still 4th however the Rockets are now a game clear of the Panthers.
It was a close first half with both sides swapping the lead in the first quarter, and although the Rockets held on to it for the entire second quarter, they were only up by 6 points at the major break.
Jo Hills relentless rebounding opened up some extra opportunities for the home team in the third quarter. The Rockets defense upped the anti with the whole team chiming in with blocks, steals and forcing turnovers all over the court. Together they limited the Panthers to just 9 points for the quarter while some sharp shooting helped the home team wedge in a 13 point lead at the last break. Although the Panthers bounced back in the final period, the damage was done and the home side were victorious 82-64.
Jo Hill led the game with her 21 points and 13 rebounds for the Rockets. Her team-mate Jamie Lee Peris also had a double double with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Janae Howard was best on court for South with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
