Round 11 Preview: Men

North Adelaide Rockets (8-3) v Eastern Mavericks (2-8)

The Rockets will try to build on their strong first half of the season when they battle the Mavericks.

A 75-68 win at Pasadena over Sturt last week means the Rockets end the first half of the season at 8-3.

For the Mavericks, this will be the final game of their first half of fixtures for 2015. They were beaten 82-121 by Woodville last round.

The Rockets defeated the Mavericks 87-60 in Round 1.

 

South Adelaide Panthers (5-7) v Woodville Warriors (10-1)

The Panthers’ resurgence will be put to the maximum test when they host the Warriors.

A 69-60 win over Southern means the Panthers have now gone 5-2 since a 0-5 start.

Elsewhere, the Warriors’ 39 point win over Eastern leaves them at 10-1, and they have not been significantly challenged scoreboard-wise in their last eight games.

The Panthers fell just seven points short of the Warriors on the season’s opening night.

 

Southern Tigers (1-9) v Forestville Eagles (5-6)

The Eagles will look to make it back-to-back wins when they visit the lowly Tigers.

The Eagles ended a five game losing streak in Round 10, upsetting West 97-86.

Meanwhile, the Tigers were on the wrong end of the scoreboard for the ninth time in 10 games, going down by nine to South.

The Eagles beat the Tigers 90-73 to commence Season 2015.

 

West Adelaide Bearcats (8-3) v Norwood Flames (9-3)

In the Match of the Round, the Bearcats will be attempt to bounce back from their disappointing loss to Forestville, when they host the Flames in the Match of the Round.

The Bearcats are no longer defeated against opponents lower than themselves on the ladder. Their only other two losses came against Woodville.

Elsewhere, the Flames knocked off Centrals 91-82, leaving them one win ahead of the Bearcats on the ladder.

The Bearcats beat the Flames 77-73 in Round 1. Both teams have added key players since then – the Flames gaining Jacob Holmes from the Townsville Crocodiles, while Peter Crawford signed with the Bearcats from the Adelaide 36ers.

 

Central District Lions (3-7) v Sturt Sabres (3-7)

The Lions and Sabres will each be playing for their fourth win of 2015 in their Round 11 clash.

In Round 10, the Lions went down by nine points to Norwood.

Meanwhile, the Sabres made it seven losses from their last eight fixtures by falling to North.

The Sabres overcame the Lions 87-74 on the opening night of Season 2015.

 

Round 12

Woodville Warriors (10-1) v Central District Lions (3-7)

The Warriors and Lions will play their second game in two games when they go head-to-head at St Clair.

The Warriors visit South on Saturday night, while the Lions will host the Sabres.

Should the Warriors prevail in Round 11, this match will give them a change to make it 10 wins in a row.

The Warriors recently beat the Lions 84-69.
