Woodville again showed why they are top of the table with a 65-107 demolition of South Adelaide at Titanium Security Arena today.

It was the battle of forwards going into the match with the league’s two highest scorers, Jeremy Smith from South Adelaide and Mitch Creek from Woodville, looking to be vital to the chances of their respective teams.

Woodville however were in control from the tip-off, getting out to an eleven-point lead at the first break. Mitch Creek was involved early for the league-leaders and proved influential in their quick start.

Despite Woodville’s early dominance they showed no signs of complacency and kept the foot on the throat of South for the remainder of the match.

Woodville’s defense was tight and pressure frenetic, and when a turnover was forced they were lethal on the counter.

In the key their movement was quick and dynamic, and proved a constant headache for the opposition.

Conversely, South were somewhat static and failed to make the most of their chances. Woodville’s control of the defensive key forced South to take many long shots, often resulting in turnovers.

Creek continued to be dominant for Woodville and was involved in everything, while Darren Ng was unforgiving when given time to shoot, finishing with a game high eight three-pointers.

Despite the brilliance of slippery star Jeremy Smith South were constantly on the back foot, with Woodville pouncing on every opportunity to walk away 42-point winners.
