Rnd 11: Forestville Men too good for South

By Jake Stoubos

Forestville Eagles 81 | South Adelaide 56

South Adelaide has fallen short on their home ground to an impressive Forestville side on Saturday night.

Forestville set the tone for the match early on in the first quarter as they were quick to make their mark felt on the scoreboard thanks to some clean shooting. They were also able to capitalise on their rebounds made from South’s inefficiency with scoring.

Scoring was not as frequent for the Eagles in the second quarter and they were giving away lots of fouls early on, allowing South to gain some easy baskets. However, this all changed half way through as Forestville elevated their pressure and cleaned up their ball movement, thus giving them the lead by 16 points at half time.

As the half drew to a close, the game picked up right where it left off. South scored a couple of good shots early on but Forestville’s fancy skills and several three pointers were what kept them in front in the end.

This was all replicated in the final quarter as the Eagles ran away with the 24 point victory proving to be just too good for the Panthers on the night.

Kyle Howe-Tipene had a great night, accumulating 10 rebounds and 5 assists while Adrien Coleman was top scorer for his panthers with 22 points.

Forestville’s victory sees them to move to equal fourth place with Sturt while South remains in eighth position.

Round 12: Saturday, 4 June at 8.15pm

Forestville Eagles v Sturt Sabres @ Wayville

South Adelaide v Norwood Flames @ Marion
