Every two years there is a ‘Yorga’s Koodjal Kadadjiny Match’ played which is the ‘Women’s Two Way Learning Match’ this consists of the Indigenous All Stars playing against the WA Women’s Football League All Stars.
This match is to celebrate the passion and skill of our indigenous female footballers and to highlight the reconciliation between our indigenous and non-indigenous female footballers and to encourage positive respectful relationships between all Australians. This match has so much significance; being a tribute match for two indigenous female footballers; Sharon Woods and Elizabeth ‘Lil’ Kickett.
The interest from indigenous players wanting to play in the ‘Yorga match’ has been overwhelming, that a selection match is to be played to identify those that will participate in the Yorga Match for the Indigenous All Stars. A selection panel will choose a team of 24 and those players will be presented a unique ‘Yorga’ jumper designed by Peter Farmer at the end of the game.
Players will battle for a position to participate in this exciting match.
