The West Australian Football Commission is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified applicants for the role of Assistant Coach of WA's Female 18’s State Team. Suitable applicants will need to be available to travel interstate from May 4th – 11th 2013.
This key coaching position within the WA talent pathway will play an integral role in identifying and developing the state’s most talented young footballers, culminating with participation in the Under 18 Youth Girls National Championships.
To be considered for this high profile role, applicants will need significant and successful experience developing youth aged players with excellent communication and leadership skills.
Suitable applicants will possess;
People Management:
• Capacity to effectively manage talented athletes and staff
• Possess strong conflict resolution skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
Football Knowledge:
• Understanding of talented athlete identification, development theories and practice
• Strong knowledge of coaching techniques / strategies
• Sound understanding of skill development learning strategies
• Sound knowledge of WAFC Talent Pathway / programs
• • Commitment to on-going personal development in the area of coach education.
Effective Communication:
• Highly developed and proven communication (written, verbal, visual) skills.
Qualification:
• Minimum Level 1 coach accreditation
SELECTION CRITERIA: ASSISTANT COACH STATE U18 FEMALE FOOTBALL
REQUIRED:
• Level 1 coach accreditation
• Demonstrated leadership skills
• Demonstrated knowledge, involvement and understanding of talent development programs
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills
• Mentor / teaching / facilitating skills that develop respect
• Demonstrated ability to formulate and communicate sequential training and game plans
• Demonstrated ability to identify and nurture youth talent
• Demonstrated ability to develop high levels of team unity
• Demonstrated ability to inspire individuals and teams in the pursuit of individual and team achievement
DESIRABLE
• Demonstrated working knowledge of vision editing programs
• Previous coaching experience within the WA player performance pathway
• Experience coaching a WAWFL team
• Level 2 coach accreditation
