The wait is almost over for a strong contingent of WAWFL players who will be looking to be drafted in the second only AFL National Women's Draft.
12 players were drafted from WA in the 2013 match, with 9 women playing for Melbourne and 3 for the Western Bulldogs. In 2014, 56 WA players have nominated in the Draft.
Six West Aussies were among the 26 players retained on the lists of the Bulldogs and the Demons for this year’s match, including 2013 No.3 draft pick Chelsea Randall.
Those who were not retained have been released back into the draft pool and will be eligible to be re-selected tonight.
