Adrian Mueller club stalwart plays his 150th Big V game
Adrian is the coach’s dream and has won from at least 3 different coaches the Coaches Award. Current Head Coach Matt Brooks says 'Adrian has one of the best work ethics and attitudes I have ever encountered on and off the court. Adrian not only inspires his team mates to be better in the way he plays, but he also inspires the people around him to be better people. I personally would like to congratulate him for his outstanding career to date'.
Adrian is a guy every club wants around the place, he is a great role model for the younger players and leads by example. When you need help you can count on Adrian to put in. He regularly helps us out on a Friday night if we are a coach short, always supports team events and club fundraisers. His parents are both regulars in the stands at home games regularly assisting with the after match food.
Adrian was always a quiet achiever. He would always put in 100% whether it was preseason, on the court, off the court or exciting the bench in typical Adrian style.
Adrian has been one of the hardest working players I've played with, both at training and on game nights. His skillset has improved each year I've watched him, and his effort has always been 100%. A great teammate, and an example to younger and older players alike. Congratulations on 150 games, and for 150 more.
"On the court, Adrian epitomises the role of a spiritual leader. He is a hard working player who is always willing to sacrifice for the good of the team, and do the little things that make every team successful. Off the court, he is a true gentleman, and one of the nicest guys you will meet, so it comes as no surprise that he has reached 150 games. Congratulations Adrian"
Adrian is the king of a blue collar player that does everything that you ask him to do. He is the shyest person I have ever met but such a genuine person on and off the court. He is the type of guy you would take a bullet for, he has helped me out on many occasions like when I’ve run out of fuel he will come to my rescue no questions asked.
Well done Adrian you are a great bloke congratulations
Adrian Mueller is a testament to what McKinnon Basketball stands for, he has worked extremely hard to get to the position he is in today and has truly earned his spot in the Big V team. Adrian is a hilarious character who seems to get along with everyone he comes across and is one of the best defenders McKinnon has ever seen! Congratulations Adrian on achieving this milestone, you are a true part of why so many people call McKinnon Basketball home and to the folks who haven't met Adrian go up and introduce yourself so you can get an appreciation for this man and who he is!
"This is my third season playing with Adrian and it has been a pleasure to be his teammate. On the court he is easily the hardest worker on the floor, off the court he is quite simply a nice bloke to be around. He is never the loudest or "out there" teammate, but you always know that he'll have your back when you’re out on the floor together.
What can I say about Ad's (maybe the worst nickname ever given the pronunciation. I'm pushing for ferris, as in ferris bueller, rhymes with... You get it, but that's another story...)?
He was one of the initial guys who I met when I came to training a few years back and what a first impression he made. I think he's one of the 1 in 2 billion people in the world who has from birth suffered from a severe case of 'trip-over-the-painted-line-itus' for which at this stage, there is no known cure. In saying that, I'm yet to come across many more guys that do what needs to be done on the court with as much physical sacrifice/body on the line no matter what the consequence effort than Adrian.
The fact that he's now played in 150 games in the league, and for this club, is testament to the quality of the man and the team focus that he brings, and it's been great to call him a team mate.
No one is ever going to call him the most graceful or poetic of players, but in his own way he gets the job done and you'll never be able to argue with that. Congrats Ferris, and here's hoping you achieve another 150, and we'll see what we can do about those pesky lines by the time you're done!
In 2005 and 2006 I was in my early rep days and I remember spending many a Saturday night watching the Big V men play. Adrian was an important member of that team then, and still is today. He is a great role model around the club as he shows where hard work, loyalty and dedication can get you. Congratulations on your 150 games Adrian!
