Geelong Basketball League Division 1 Round 4 Wrap

An impressive shooting performance from Paul Hutchison inspired Try Boys to its fourth consecutive win of the 2012 Geelong Basketball League Division One men’s season.

The former Geelong SEABL and Big V championship winner dropped 26 points in the Bears 78-59 victory over Rovers, while fellow veteran Marty De Lange finished with 18.

Chris Eichler paced Rovers with 11 points.

Sharks moved into the top four with a 79-70 result against Dolphins, thanks to 33 points from Big V Supercat Dane Bow.

Bow’s Geelong teammate Ben McCawley again starred for Dolphins, shooting 28 points, while Mikey Lesic finished with 17.

Vytis produced the highest score of the season so far in beating Tigers 110-74.

Steve Wiasak was best for the Knights with 28 points, while Jono Payne dropped 25 and Supercats’ rookie Michael Rebula had 20.

Tigers were best served by Ben Scannell’s 24 points.

YMCA secured its first win of the season with victory over Christian College.

SEABL Lady Supercat Cortney Williamson produced one of the finest individual performances in recent memory in the GBL Division One women’s competition, scorching Lara for 40 points in a 79-54.

Talented big Caitlin Shadbolt was impressive for the Giants with 25 points.

Anisa Sijersic proved she will still be a handful for opponents in 2012 with a 30 point-haul in Try Boys 76-61 victory against Sharks.

Maddy White and Georgia Varley shared scoring honours for Sharks with 19 apiece.

YMCA claimed their second win of the season with a 52-36 victory over Pivot City.

The addition of SEABL Lady Supercat Candice Rogers proved to be a key for Y, scoring 19 points.

Olivia Cameron was the only player from Pivot to score in double-figures, finishing with 13 points.
