Tanner Rayner Earns a Spot!
The Bendigo Bank Braves have selected their second debutant in has many weeks, with the announcement last night that Tanner Rayner will make his senior debut this Saturday night against the Canberra Gunners.
Rayner has been a consistent performer with the Big V Youth team this season, after a confidence boasting season in the Country Basketball League (CBL) over summer.
Coach Ben Harvey is proud with the clubs ability to blood young local talent into the squad.
“Tanner has been rewarded for his hard work over the last 12 months. He puts in the effort on the training track, and now he gets his chance”.
Rayner will replace last week’s debutant Jake Wilcocks, who has withdrawn due to an ankle injury. Wilcocks made an immediate impact scoring four points in just six minutes of basketball, and Rayner will be hoping to replicate the contribution of Wilcocks this weekend.
“I am very excited for the opportunity Ben has given me to suit up with the Braves and hope that I can match the success of Jake Wilcox efforts last weekend” stated Tanner.
The Braves are looking to get their seventh straight win, taking on the Canberra Gunners at home this Saturday night at the Bendigo Stadium, tipping-off at 8pm as part of a double header, with the Bendigo Champions IGA Lady Braves playing Canberra Caps from 6:00pm.
