MATCH REPORT: Spinning Bullets vs Red Dust Heelers

The QLD RSL Spinning Bullets have opened their 2014 campaign with a 59-50 win against league newcomers the Red Dust Heelers.

The teams were hard to split apart from the first quarter where the Spinning Bullets put a ten point margin between the two sides. Tom O’Neill-Thorne led from the front again with 21 points but had tremendous low point support from Matthew McShane and Tige Simmonds.

For the Heelers Jake Kavanagh played big minutes and looked comfortable running the team’s offense from the point. He scored 10 points but had plenty of help fropm Rollers captain Brad Ness (16), Ryan Morich (10), Tony Wade (6) and Clare Nott (6).

With finals spots to be hotly contested this year, both teams will leave the first round cluster with a record of 1-2.
