The Kilsyth Cobras and Be Active Perth Wheelcats have streaked to the top of the ladder thanks to back-to-back wins over the weekend.

On Saturday night, Kilsyth used a 19-9 third term to take care of Red Dust Heelers with an 11-point victory.

They then backed up that performance with a close win on Sunday, sneaking past the Heelers 70-69 after their opponents finished the game on a 5-1 run in the final 16 seconds.

Tristan Knowles had his fingerprints all over the contest, averaging 24.5 points and eight assists across the two clashes, Shawn Russell added 19.5 points while Dan Del Toso was also instrumental with 13 points per game.

Brad Ness paced Red Dust with 22.5 points for the weekend including a double-double on Sunday while Adam Deans atoned for a quiet night on Saturday with 20 points, ten rebounds and three assists in the second meeting.

However, the two losses have dropped them to fourth on the ladder, three games outside of the top two.

In the other games for the weekend, Perth took care of the Sydney Metro Blues by winning all but one quarter across two meetings.

Shaun Norris was unstoppable with 37 points, 10.5 rebounds and six assists across the games while shooting at 47% from the field.

On Saturday night he was ably assisted by Kim Robins (14 points, seven rebounds) before Amber Merritt stepped up on Sunday with nine points and 14 defensive boards.

The Blues will take confidence from Daniel Skuse who collected two double-doubles for an average of 18.5 points and 14.5 rebounds while their bench outscored the Wheelcats in both contests.

Sitting on the bottom of the ladder at 0-6 and with a point differential of -161, it is a long road back for Sydney Metro though.

Next week is a bye for the NWBL due to the Kevin Coombs Cup competition being held in Forestville, South Australia from April 20-24.
