SEASON REVIEW: SYDNEY METRO BLUES

SYDNEY METRO BLUES

Wins - 0
Losses – 15
Standing – 6th
2015 result – 2 wins 13 losses

THE GOOD

Darren Skuse averaged close to a double-double for the season with 10.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game while Kylie Gauci added a team-high 3.9 assists per contest. Anderson Parker overcame a slow start to the year to finish with seven points per game while recording double-figures in scoring in four of his final five contests.

THE BAD

The Blues owned an average losing margin of 35 points with their closest match coming against the Heelers in Round 4 when they fell by 11 points. They gave up 100+ twice in the season to Kilsyth and Wollongong while their offence produced 22 points less per game than the next least effective offensive team in the competition.

STANDOUT PERFORMER

Clarence McCarthy-Grogan was only one of two Blues player to average double-figure scoring for the season, leading the side with 12.6 points per game. He finished the year strongly, bumping that average to 18.3 in his final four outings while shooting at 41% overall.

Next Year

The good news for the Blues is that the only way from here is up but after recording just two wins since the start of the 2015 season, they are in desperate need of some success. Parker could be the kind of player to build a team around while Gliders stars Gauci, Georgia Munro-Cook and Jess Cronje are beneficial to the development of those younger players coming through. A solid start for the Blues side in their 2016 WNWBL campaign could also provide more options for next season.
