2014 Annual General Meeting

Saturday morning, SA Country Basketball Council met for the 2014 AGM. Highlights of the meeting were:

• Ray Cadd (Bordertown) awarded SA Country Basketball life membership
• Bert Bargeus re-elected President for a 3 year term
• Beth Serle, Cathy Warren and Peter Seebohm re-elected as Vice President for 3 year terms
• Henry Weiss re-elected as Regional Supervisor, Central, for a 3 year term
• John Spooner elected as Regional Supervisor, Far West, for a 3 year term
• Affiliation fees approved
• Country Championships by-law updated
• Draft strategic plan tabled and now enters discussion phase

SA Country Basketball 40^th Anniversary Celebration

Saturday evening at the Lockleys Hotel, well over 100 people joined to celebrate 40 years of SA Country Basketball.

John Spooner and Maureen Robinson’s tireless work in arranging the events of the night were appreciated by all and ensured the history – and those who were part of it – was recognised and on display for the night.

Rachael Sporn joined us as guest speaker and kindly shared her experiences with us and spent a significant amount of time chatting with the crowd.

We were also joined by many members of our founding committee, first state team and more recent state team coaches, managers and players.

We also acknowledged 44 volunteers who were nominated by their Associations and SA Country as significant contributors to our first 40 years. Congratulations to:
