Registrations have now opened for Australia’s first “Three on Three” (3X3) national tournament, the 2015 3X3 Nationals. REGISTRATION AND OTHER INFORMATION HERE.
The 3X3 Nationals are open to basketball players from across the community, including associations, schools, businesses and even from local “street” courts. Teams consist of four players who are guaranteed at least three matches in their qualifying event.
Teams that qualify for the quarter finals at each of the seven 3X3 Nationals – Qualifier events, are automatically eligible to compete in the 3X3 National Finals, with no registration fee being charged for the Finals. Teams can register and compete in multiple qualifying events if they wish.
With over 250 million players worldwide and ranked amongst the most played recreational sports on the planet, 3x3 basketball is increasingly becoming a key driver for the development of basketball.
This ever growing popular new sport which is played in over 200 countries worldwide will be held in 7 iconic locations around Australia including: Geelong, Murrays Bridge, Albany, Latrobe, Wollongong, Gold Coast and Townsville.
One of the biggest strengths of 3x3 is its simplicity both in terms of rules and required facilities, allowing it to be held in the most spectacular settings, using iconic landmarks as backdrops.
