VJBL Grading Tips Off This Friday

The 2015 VJBL season officially kicks off this Friday 21st November with the first round of Grading Phase 1.

All teams have been allocated into their initial pool for Phase 1 (four teams) and will play against the other three teams in their pool over the next three weeks - one game at home, one game away and one game at a neutral venue.

After Phase 1 of grading, some of the top teams will qualify immediately into the Championship Division of their age group. Many teams also play a cross over game before Christmas that will qualify them into a new pool for Grading Phase 2.

Grading Phase 2 kicks off after the Australia Day long weekend in 2015 with another three rounds of pool play, plus cross over games.

The VJBL Grading system can seem quite complex, but it is very effective at ensuring that all teams have the opportunity to be competitive in their division for the main season which kicks off in March 2015.

If you would like to know more about the VJBL grading system, the grading maps on the VJBL Web site show how it all works (link below):

Good luck to all our Junior Championship teams for the 2015 season and Go Boomers !
