A big weekend over the Australia Day long weekend as most of our Junior Championship teams hit the court for the 2015 Eltham Dandenong Tournament. This tournament is the traditional New Year hitout before the next phase of grading begins for the VJBL and has grown to be one of the biggest tournaments on the calendar.

And it was a big weekend for our Boomers junior teams with titles galore and many fabulous results. With so many teams involved, this is no easy tournment to win, so any team that won their division has completed a fabulous few days of basketball.

There are so many winning Boomers teams, it will take while to work it all out - so just for now we will summarise the A grade results and all results will be published in the next edition of Full Court Press next week.

For the record, these are the results from A grade finals that featured Boomers teams:

U12-1 Girls: Eltham 22 def Bulleen 21

U14-1 Girls: Bulleen 38 def Diamond Valley 30

U18-1 Girls: Bulleen 40 def Dandenong 36

U12-1 Boys: Bulleen 41 def McKinnon 29

A big congratulations to the U14-1 girls, U18-1 girls and U12-1 boys who all grabbed the tournament title - well done to the players, coaches, team managers and all the Boomers supporters who turned out to cheer on our teams (and it was certainly a packed house at all venues for the grand finals).

A special mention and commiserations to the U12-1 girls, who went down in a heartbreaker in their Grand Final by a solitary point. But as a very new team, these girls had an outstanding tournament and can hold their heads high - well done girls.
