Werribee Basketball - The Future

Werribee Basketball – “The Future”

Information Update No. 1 – March 2012

The Executive of Werribee Basketball Association (WBA) has launched a review of all aspects of our strategy and operations, with the aim of presenting an updated strategy to our members and other partners early in the second half of this year.

The Executive has contracted The Lonsdale Group (TLG) to assist with the review. TLG is a specialist consultancy and advisory practice that has significant experience in strategic and high performance planning and governance in sport. Most recently they have worked with; Dandenong, Keilor and Knox Basketball Associations, Basketball Victoria, Swimming Australia, Volleyball Australia, and Equestrian Australia.

We will also draw on the expertise and skills from within the WBA and also plan to work closely with Basketball Victoria. The review will be overseen by the Executive, led by our President, Mark Hall, with contributions from others as we progress.

“The Future” of Basketball in Wyndham provides many challenges, as we look forward to the Werribee Sports & Fitness Centre being redeveloped with additional court space. To be ready for these challenges, we must prepare ourselves and develop the Association to meet the needs of the Wyndham Basketball community into the future.

We plan to provide our community with regular progress updates in upcoming months. If you have ideas or suggestions you would like the Executive to consider, or if you feel you can assist the Executive with the review, please email us at executive@werribeebasketball.com .

Regards

MARK HALL

President Werribee Basketball Association

Comment Guidelines: The SportingPulse Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
