Do You Want To Be An Official Referee at Highlands Football Referees?

Are you a qualified Referee or are you interested in learning to become a football referee?  Highlands Football Referees (HFR), the official referee branch providing services to the Highlands Soccer Association (HSA), is now recruiting for upcoming training courses for the 2016 season.

Refereeing can be an exciting and challenging position, providing you with the best seat in the game. It is not just about knowing the laws of the game, but also applying them correctly, understanding how the game unfolds, player management and your own personality. It also helps to develop life skills & confidence and maintains & improves fitness levels without the bumps and bruises players sustain. You’ll need to be a minimum of 13 years of age to become a junior referee.

So, whether you want to give back something to the sport you love, earn some extra pocket money or have ambitions of refereeing on a local, state or higher level, this is a great place to start.

Highlands Football Referees members are paid fortnightly into their nominated bank accounts.  They receive full initial training, and ongoing training and mentoring.  Opportunities for advancement through Football NSW pathways are available if that's the direction you want to head in, or, you can choose to stay at your local level only.

Referees who are also registered as players with the Highlands Soccer Association receive free registration while new referees also receive the basic referee kit (uniform, flags, whistle and cards) free. So, incentives are available to help you hit the ground running.

That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
