EFFECT MANAGEMENT DECISION ON REPRESENTATIVE PROGRAM

On Monday night, 1st September, the Management Committee of TBI voted to keep the current TBI Representative Policy, with no changes to the current stance on travel and accommodation of Representative teams.

This decision was made to manage the risk to the Association, its assets, staff, volunteers and members. The policy clearly states that the ‘Approved Method’ of travel is team bus and accommodation’.

This does not prevent a parent from deciding not to travel by the ‘Approved Method’ but by doing so they accept all risk and liability. By travelling outside of the ‘Approved Method’ a parent removes any risk or liability from Townsville Basketball Inc, its assets, staff, volunteers and members.

A forum will be held to outline what this means and how it will work, Chaired by Andrew Gisinger (Member TBI Management Committee). Please be aware that we did not say that parents could not travel and accommodate themselves, we are clearly stating that we choose not to change the existing policy with regards to ‘Approved Method’.

President
Townsville Basketball Inc.
