2015 Youth and Rookie Player of the Year Award

Basketball NSW is pleased to announce the winners of the Youth and Rookie Player of the Year awards for 2015 Molten Waratah League.

The Waratah League Youth and Rookie Player of the Year awards are determined by votes from the Head Coach and Team Captain of each team in these divisions.   Voters were not permitted to vote for members of their own team.

Championship Men Youth Player of the Year
Newcastle Hunters guard Ryan Beisty has been voted the 2015 Molten Waratah League Youth Player of the Year for the Championship Men’s Division.  The 19 year old scored 285 points at an average of 14.2 points per game and tallied 168 rebounds (115 defensive and 53 offensive) at 8.4 per game.

Championship Women Youth Player of the Year
Norths Bears guard Riley Evans has been voted the 2015 Molten Waratah League Youth Player of the Year for the Championship Women’s Division.  The 19 year old scored 140 points at an average of 10 points per game, with a field goal percentage of 35.7%.

Division 1 Men Rookie of the Year
Sydney University Spiders Sam White has been voted the 2015 Molten Waratah League Rookie Player of the Year for the Division 1 Men's League.  Sam an 18 year old guard scored 174 points during the regular season at an average of 17.4 points per game.

Division 1 Women Rookie of the Year
Bathurst Goldminers Emily Matthews has been voted the 2015 Molten Waratah League Rookie of the Year for the Division 1 Women's League.  Emily a 16 year old centre scored 77 points during the regular season at an average of 11 points per game.

Division 1 Youth Men Rookie of the Year
Bankstown Bruins Aaron Borich has been voted the 2015 Molten Waratah League Rookie of the Year for the Division 1 Youth League Men.  Aaron the 17 year old guard scored 212 points during the regular season at an average of 9.6 points per game.

Division 1 Youth Women Rookie of the Year
Newcastle Hunters Cassidy McLean has been voted the 2015 Molten Waratah League Rookie of the Year for the Division 1 Youth League Women.  Cassidy the 16 year old forward scored 104 points during the regular season at an average of 13 points per game.

Division 2 Youth Men Rookie of the Year
Hawkesbury Jets Liam Moss has been voted the 2015 Molten Waratah League Rookie of the Year for the Division 2 Youth League Men.  The 17 year old guard scored 270 points during the regular season at an average of 16.9 points per game.
