Basketball QLD's 2011 Chairman’s Award Winner - Del Harney

Del Harney
Del has been an integral member of the Rockhampton Basketball Association for the past 30 years after her election as Secretary in 1982. Although she retired from the Management Committee in 2009 she still runs Bingo for the Association as a means of raising much needed funds.
During her time on the Management Committee she spent virtually every day at Hegvold Stadium administering the association.
Del is known for her reliability and getting her hands dirty when something needs to be done. This has resulted in her being awarded Life Membership of Rockhampton Basketball and being awarded the Basketball Australia Volunteer of the Year in 1997.
No matter what the situation, Del will always find a solution. She has a positive and cheerful disposition and a very deserving winner of the 2011 Chairman’s Award.
