The upcoming winter season will bring a couple of changes and also see RBI tighten up on previous policies that have been in place but have slipped away.
Online Registrations:
We are moving towards a paperless registration system to improve our efficiency and to also follow the trend of business being more environmentally friendly by cutting paper usage where possible.
As of this season (Winter 2013, starting up after Easter) we now ask that all members register and pay online through our sportingpulse membership system.
Beginning in the summer season 2013 (starting in September) there will be an administration fee added to any paper registration. Exceptions will be made to those who are registering and receiving a family discount (for those families that have 4 or more immediate family members of the same household playing basketball).
Team Nomination:
To help our members with the online registration process each club will be assigned a team code for each division and gender (this will enable players to register without knowing exactly which team they are in). Clubs will then provide those details to their members so they can register online. Once team lists are finalised and team nominations are received, RBI will split the players into teams based on the team nominations received from the clubs.
Player Registration:
Players will not be allowed to take the court unless they have registered and paid in full from round 1 of competition.
Any team that fields an unregistered player will be penalised with a loss of competition points as per the RBI by-laws.
Part-payments:
Part payments will be allowed only in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of General Manager. A part-payment system will be in place from this season (Winter Season 2013) that requires a part-payment plan to be signed which authorises RBI to debit a credit card in three equal payments over three weeks. If the registration is not paid in full with this time or a payment bounces you will be unable to play. If you wish to apply for a part payment you will need to do so before the competition night as it will need to be approved.
