As last year was a huge success, Suncoast Clippers are inviting Expressions of Interest from Clubs of Affiliated Associations to compete in the

 

 Eligibility

 

• Players must not turn 11 in 2014; they are born in 2004 or later (Clubs/Associations should retain a copy of the player’s proof of age).
• Players must be a registered member of the Club they are representing.
• Players must participate in the Club Competition / Program offered for the U11 Age Group at their Association and their Association must provide a copy of one of the following:

 

1. Scoresheets of two club competition games for the team nominated.
2. Where an Association offers an U10 and U12 Competition as opposed to an U11 Competition they must provide scoresheets of two club games for the U10 and U12 teams.
3. Where an Association does not offer an U11 Competition as such where scoresheets are used but offers an U11 Program the Association Representative must confirm in writing that all players participate in the Program that the Association offers.

 

• A total of 12 players will be permitted to play in each team and all players must be registered with the team prior to the commencement of the tournament.
• If a team needs to register a player on the day of the tournament this must be done prior to the team’s first game by seeing Suncoast Clippers Competition staff at the entrance to the stadium.
• If a team that wishes to nominate does not meet all of the criteria outlined above they may apply for an exemption to the eligibility rule in cases where there are extenuating circumstances. The Competition Manager will review the exemption request and make a determination on whether the team will be accepted into the competition. Their decision will be final.

 

Competition Format

 

• The competition last year attracted 12 Boys teams and 6 Girls teams, this year we would like to see that number rise.
• Nominations will be accepted on a first in first serve basis.
• It is envisaged that teams will play approx. 2/3 games on Friday and Saturday and at least one game on the final day.
• Teams are required to identify the number of representative players in their team in order to seed the teams into pools.
• Suncoast Clippers reserves the right to change the make-up of competitions if the number of nominations warrants it.
• In nominating, your team acknowledges and accepts that Suncoast Clippers develops the competition format, draws and rules of the competition and your team agrees to abide by the said rules and follow the competition format.

 

 

 

Game Timing / Players / Uniforms

 

• 4 x 10 minute quarters with a running clock
• Clock stops in last minute of the 2nd quarter and last two minutes of the 4th quarter on all whistles
• Two time outs are permitted each half. The clock will only stop for timeouts in the last minute of the second quarter and last two minutes of the 4th quarter.
• Warm up shall be 3 mins, time between quarters shall be 1 min, and half time is set for 2 mins; but is subject to amendment if required
• In the event of a tied score at the end of a game, extra time periods of 3 minutes will be played until a result is obtained. A 1 minute break between regular time and extra periods of 3 minutes will be taken. 1 timeout will be permitted in each extra period in which the clock will stop
• A total of 12 players will be permitted to play in each team and all players must be registered with the team prior to the commencement of the tournament
• Uniforms are to be numbered 4-15, 20-25, 30-35, 40-45, 50-55 in accordance with the Official Basketball Rules
