Rockhampton Players Feature Heavily in QLD State Teams

Rockhampton Basketball will be well represented in the Queensland U16 State Team this year after 4 boys (Damon and Leon Christensen, Malachi Shanahan and Sheldon Whitworth) and 2 girls (Briana Bailey & Kaitlyn Hill) were named at the completion of the U16 State Championships held in Rockhampton and Cairns last week. A further two Rockhampton boys (Bailey Meyers & Nick Magnussen) were named as emergencies and selected to the Emerging QLD teams while Anna Dyer was also selected to the Emerging QLD team.

Rockhampton Basketball Inc General Manager Heath Millar was overjoyed by the news. "What a fantastic result for Rockhampton Basketball, the athletes and their families. Credit must be given to the players and their coaches for all the hard work they have put into improving their skills."

State Teams will compete at the Australian Junior Championships in South Australia in July and the Under 15 Emerging teams will compete in a tournament in Melbourne in June 2013.
